You can't kill the BattleTech
The Battletech will live on
Warhammer tried to kill the BattleTech
But they failed, as they were smote to the ground
Harmony Gold tried to kill the BattleTech
But they failed, as they were stricken down to the ground
Warmachine tried to kill the BattleTech Ha,hahahahaha
They failed, as they were thrown to the ground
Aargh! yeah! [x2]
[Singing]
No-one can destroy the BattleTech
The BattleTech will strike you down with a vicious blow
We are the vanquished foes of the BattleTech
We tried to win for why we do not know
Harmony Gold tried to destroy the BattleTech, but the BattleTech had its way
Warhammer then tried to dethrone the BattleTech, but BattleTech was in the way
Warmachine tried to destroy the BattleTech, but BattleTech was much too strong
Infinity tried to defile the BattleTech, but Infinity was proven wrong
Yeah!
BattleTechl!
It comes from hell!

Its all fun and games, till the AC breaks
So, I have finished painting up the 2 units that I will be using in one of my scenarios for Historicon. They are for a scenario called "To Catch a Dragon". Pretty basic what if scenario. I painted them as the 1st Fedsuns Armored Cavalry and a Sword of Light unit. They will be representing the Fighting Urakhai and the 24th Deiron Regulars. The reason I have painted them as the 1SAC and SoL is because sometime in the future I want to use them for something else called Deadliest MechWarrior. Which is the name of the other event I will be running at Historicon. Deadliest Mechwarrior there though will be the 1st Knights of the Inner Sphere and the 6th Lyran Guards.
I digress though.
So I am feeling all proud of myself for having finished retouching or outright repainting half of the mechs I need for July when I notice its a bit warm. I check and the AC is blowing warm. I check the unit outside, it seems dead.
So, now that I have painted half the 'Mechs I am sitting around in a very warm house in Virginia in hat looks to be the start of a very warm summer.......
Oh well. I will be posting new pics of the finished 'Mechs soon, as long as they, the camera, or I don't melt first.
And I might need to see about runing that Deadliest Mechwarrior 1st FSAC v 1st SoL at my local store this June as a sort of run up to the Con.
I digress though.

Took a break from painting to see Willie Nelson. I have to say the kids were annoying there... Other then that though it was a good show. Please though people . If you bring your kids to a concert and you have lawn seats, you arent going to make any friends by letting them stand in your lawn chairs.

Where has the battle gone?
So, for the past 2 years I have been a participant in something I consider to be the kickoff of my gaming year. It is an event called "Battle for the Cure" run by the Iron Fist League out of Northern Virginia. Usually this has already come and gone though. Yet here it is, early may, and there has been nothing posted about it. Well, me being the greedy git that I am and enjoying my local tournaments. I thin I will have to add trying to organize a BftC style tournament to my to do list for this year with the proceeds going straight to the Susan G Komen Foundation. I will have to track down the rules for the past two years and see what they were then see if I can build support for this at either The Game Vault or at FTW games, possibly even both, and maybe even work it up to a two weekend or 2 day event with both Warhammer 40K and Warmachine.
Here is to gaming for a cause.
