In my first round I played againt Jon, he was running a Wraithguard Army , The Entire Amy consisted of 40 Wraithguard (I think thats thier name), 3 Wraithlords, 2 3 man bike squads, and some farseers. Lots of Fortune and ots of conceal. The game itself was the Messenger mission. I had set up my messengers squad in a Devilfish, a Hammerhead, and an extra Devilfish to screen the Messenger's Devilfish and push into the enemy's deployment zone on my right. I set up the second Hammerhead to my left with the Piranha and used Crisis and Broadside suits to hold the center. He set up his army in a formation in the center consisting of 3 ranks. The messenger was in he middle rank. During the game he progressed slowly across the table, walkign his napoleonic style Eldar forward and shrugging off most damage I coudl do at range while I pushed the small armored column up the right and attempted to perform an end-run on his army to get into his deployment zone with the messenger. In the end though he was able to stop my devilfish toting messenger cold by blowing it up and then proceeded to kill off the troops and messenger inside. I was able to score some kills on his wraithguard as well as two thirds of a bike squadron and a wraithlord but was not able to do nearly enough damage to really worry him. Due to the speed with whch his forces progressed though he also was unable to get his messenger into my deployment zone. and he pulled off a minor victory due to kill points.
My second game was against Lukas who was fielding a Dark Angels Army. The objective was to have more scoring units within 6" of an objective in the center of the table then your opponent. He was running a Deathwing Terminator Army with 3 Land Speeders and 2 Predators in Support. Each of his Terminator Squads had Cyclone missile launchers, and I will say that I have earned a great deal of respect for them. I set up in I guess what would be considered a "Kauyon" style of deployment using the 2 ends of my deployment zone as firebases, one held by 2 crisis teams and a broadside team, the other held by 2 Hammerheads, a crisis suit team, the kroot, and the command team. I left the Devilfish all in reserve, hoping for a late game entry into the game. His initial moves put him in a position where he was able to pummell the Broadside team and accompanying suits with cyclones as he seemed to take them as the greatest threat. His speeders he pushed towards the Hammerheads and kroot. The Piranha pushed up the same side of his table and passed his oncoming landspeeder on the way. My turn 3 his Terminators had pushed up t the pbjective and my devilfish had come in from reserves, except for one. By turn 5 the fish were all parked on the objective on one side with half of them destroyed and his termies were ont he other side. The kroot had run up and slaughtered a terminator assault squad in close combat. The command team was able to pick off a terminator squad with plasma. In the end he had 1 more scoring unit then me within 6 inches and took a minor victory over me.
My last opponent was playing tyranids. seeing as how I am somewhat lazy about it and I think he gives a good quick synopsis of the game in his blog I wont go into alot of detail other then to say, I should have remembered the tervigons count as troop choices when taken with enough hormagaunts.
I have included 2 picures I took and one that he took of my army and two I took of my opponents armies with my camera phone.
